How to use pre-release Windows 10 themes?

Welcome to the important news site.

As you know, it was in October that Microsoft unveiled a new update for Windows 10. This update, which is called Creators Update, has new features that will be available to users of this service in the future.

The ability to use different themes is one of these new features that Microsoft has introduced in the latest Windows 10 service update. Although you are not able to use themes through Windows Store, we are here to make it possible for you by teaching a method.

Themes are in the Windows Store but not fully

Frustratingly, the new Windows 10 themes are currently unavailable. Insiders with preview version 14965 will be able to see and even click on these items (plus be able to pre-load selected items), but it won’t be until 2017 when this update officially rolls out. To be published, nothing more can be done.

It also looks like the themes will be available in a regular store.

In the following section you can see some new themes that are available through the Windows Store:

Users of Pro and Home versions of Windows 10 can click on these links to refer to the page related to each theme. Of course, you should know that you are not able to download them. Instead, you can become a member of the Windows 10 Insider program by clicking on the Join Now button (this is also not a reason for your access to themes).

Users of Pro and Home versions of Windows 10 who use version 14393.576 (latest version) are able to search for available items. Write the word Store in the start search field and then select the first displayed result. You can also click on the Windows Store icon located in the taskbar.

After the Windows Store is loaded, select the Top apps section. Then, tap on the Personalization option through the Category menu.

After the Personalization section is loaded, scroll down to see the new Windows 10 themes.

Can’t wait? The following tutorial will help you

If you can’t wait any longer, we have a solution by which you can bypass Windows limitations. However, this method is not as easy as you think. Please note that the following tutorial is only for Windows 10 Insider users who use preview version 14951 or higher.

Find the theme you like to preload and download it. Do not skip this section without doing so. Follow the path C:Program FilesWindowsApps. If you are unable to see the downloaded file, check the Hidden items option through the View tab of Windows Explorer.

Then you need to take ownership of the newly discovered folder and its contents. When you try to open this folder, you may be denied access. Click on the security tab highlighted link in the error message. Then select Advanced and then Continue.

As you can see, its current and old owner is TrustedInstaller. Choose the Change option.

Enter the name of the administrator of your user account under the Enter the object name to select section and then click on the Check Names option. After doing this, your computer name and account manager should be displayed. Then click on OK.

Select

Replace owner of subcontainers and objects. Doing this causes the changes to be saved and we don’t need to apply them again. After that, tap on the Apply option. Windows 10 quickly applies the changes and allows you to access any item in WindowsApps.

Now, just find the file that has the same name as your chosen theme and you have already downloaded it. After finding the desired folder, open it and launch the .themepack file.

When will the new Windows 10 update be released?

The Windows 10 Creators Update (or version 1703: Redstone 2) is scheduled for release in Spring 2017. As you know, along with this update, themes also come to Windows 10. In addition, the creators of this update are supposed to bring a new wave of innovation by giving creativity and improving the experience of video games for different groups.

Windows Holography support, Action Center improvements, Microsoft Word’s full pen support, and the Groove Music Maker application are among the things that are available through this update. Also, other smaller things such as themes and the ability to customize colors are also other features that are added to Windows 10 with the Creators Update.
